Lauren Sanderson Kansas City Concert reviews
Musiq Soulchild performed 2 hours late!!!!!!!!!!!!
After seeing her perform this time, I was very excited for this concert at the House of Blues especially since I am a fan of Lauren Sanderson's music and have seen her perform before. My overall opinion of the concert was that it tremendously underwhelmed. The most stands out issue I had with the concert is that she didn't come on to stage to perform until about 10 PM when the doors opened at 8 PM! Lauren Sanderson's first signed artist Taj Infinity came to the stage 1 hour after the doors opened at 8 PM and performed about 5 songs. I usually always try to listen to a new artist with open ears but honestly Taj did not sound that good. Her look wasn't too appealing either as she was wearing a black bodysuit and honestly nothing about her stood out. After performing for about 20 minutes Taj literally ran off the stage. To make matters worse I was told by the security personnel at approx. 9:30 PM that Lauren was taking pictures and would be another 30 minutes. People were so tired and angry about waiting that they began to boo and yell obscenities toward Lauren. If there was a true opening act that started at 8 PM then I know I would have had a better time! I understand that the headliner usually doesn't come out right away but there was no real opening. After performing her set of songs Lauren ended the show with "BUDDY" after approx. 1 hour. I really tried my best to enjoy the show when she finally came on but I was rubbed the wrong way by what seemed to be as a lackadaisical demeanor and that she didn't (or the House of Blues didn't) apologize for coming on so late or at least giving a reason why she came on so late. The actual performance was average at best because it felt like she was going through the motions throughout the performance. Lauren can sing and sounds good live but I think she could have given more of a performance. I chalk it up to the tickets being relatively inexpensive as a reason for her not performing to her full potential. At the end of the day I will still listen to Lauren Sanderson's CDs but I will probably never see her in concert again because it is officially not worth it after what happened at this past event. This is just my 2 cents and I hope my review will be of benefit to someone!
